ADB Holds Policy Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence in Beijing

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) hosted a policy dialogue on artificial intelligence (AI) in Beijing on June 4. The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities of AI’s utilities and governance. The event was inaugurated by Zhan Shu, Director of the Department of International Economic and Financial Cooperation at the PRC Ministry of Finance. Experts from UNESCO, UNDP, Tsinghua University’s Institute for AI International Governance, SenseTime Intelligent Industry Research Institute, and ADB’s Digital Technology Group shared valuable insights. Key topics included the digital divide, hardware development and software application, and the climate impact of data centers powering AI.
This dialogue provided a platform for discussing the implications of AI in the PRC and other developing countries, aiming to foster collaboration and innovative solutions to emerging challenges.
