The ADB–PRC Regional Knowledge Sharing Initiative (RKSI) was established on 30 August 2012 by the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), as a development-knowledge sharing platform among ADB’s developing member countries.
It draws primarily on the PRC’s lessons and experiences in promoting and supporting rapid economic growth and social transformation over the past 40 years.
RKSI’s thematic focuses are aligned with ADB’s strategic directions. And they are in line with the government’s priorities indicated in the ADB-PRC Country Partnership Strategy, and its Five-Year Plans. Being a south-south knowledge sharing platform, RKSI’s thematic areas also reflect the demands and interests of other developing countries.
To achieve its mandate, RKSI promotes knowledge sharing and networking among institutions in Asia through the organization and sponsor of various events (seminars, workshops, conferences) and the production of various knowledge products that are disseminated on its website.
