China Poverty Reduction Forum Developing and Sharing Governance Solutions to Reduce Poverty

26 May 2017 Beijing, The People's Republic of China

Over the past two decades, many low-income countries have grown into middle-income countries. Despite GDP growth, the challenge of making growth more inclusive remains. The forum discussed ways to share best practices in poverty alleviation, bringing together more than 100 delegates from 7 countries, 16 international organizations, academia, private sector, and the media. The Global Poverty Reduction Online Knowledge Sharing Database, an international repository of successful innovative solutions, was launched at the forum. This database is managed by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC) and the China Internet Information Center (CIIC), supported by ADB, World Bank, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, and private sector partners.
