RKSI Joins Cross-Border Wildfires Prevention Workshop 

RKSI joined the Cross-Border Forest and Steppe Wildfires Prevention and Suppression between the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Mongolia Workshop on 20-21 June in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The conference, organized under TA 6748-PRC: Integrated Framework for Cost-Effective Disaster Risk Management, discussed the action guidelines of cross-border forest and steppe wildfires prevention and suppression between the PRC and Mongolia. Experts and officials from the PRC and Mongolia shared their practices and provided comments on the action guidelines.

ADB East Asia Department Regional Head of Operations Coordination Balabhaskara Reddy Bathula gave the opening remarks. Workshop participants visited Huitengliang Wind Farm, Nanshan Park, and Inner Mongolia Forest Fire Brigade to learn the respective areas’ forest and steppe fire prevention techniques, including centralized fire prevention and monitoring systems, firefighting facilities, equipment, and personnel.
